Gurugram: A disagreement between a Rapido rider and a woman passenger over an alleged wrong drop-off location has gone viral on social media, with the incident reigniting discussions on navigation accuracy and the responsibilities of ride-hailing drivers.

A video of the incident, shared on X by the account Indiainlast24hr, shows the woman confronting the rider after claiming he had dropped her at the wrong location despite knowing her intended destination.

Rider says he followed the app

In the viral clip, the visibly upset passenger questioned why the rider had entered the basement and stopped at what she described as the wrong location.

Defending himself, the Rapido rider said he had simply followed the destination shown on the app.

“I was going by the app. The app showed this as the drop location, so I brought you here,” the rider is heard saying in the video.

Argument escalates over payment

As the disagreement continued, another man, who was recording the incident, repeatedly asked the woman to pay the fare. His intervention further intensified the exchange, with the passenger asking him not to interfere.

The woman eventually scanned the rider’s QR code and completed the payment. However, the argument continued briefly before she walked away from the spot.

Social media divided

The viral video has drawn mixed reactions online.

Many users defended the rider, arguing that he should not be blamed if the destination pin on the app was incorrect. Others felt drivers should exercise better judgment when dropping passengers, especially if the app’s location appears inaccurate or inconvenient.

Several social media users also criticised the person filming the incident, saying his repeated insistence on payment unnecessarily escalated the situation.

The incident has once again highlighted the importance of accurate map locations and clear communication between passengers and ride-hailing drivers to avoid similar disputes.
