Retired bank manager stabbed to death by cop

Kasargod: A retired bank manager was stabbed to death by a police constable at Karadka in Adoor Police Station limits in Kasargod district on Saturday, November 17. The accused cop is said to be a relative of the deceased.

The victim has been identified as Madhavan Nayar (59), a resident of Karadka Shantinagar and the police constable who allegedly murdered Madhavan Nayar has been identified as Shyam (27). Soon after the incident, the Adoor police arrested Shyam.

The reason behind the murder is said to be property dispute. According to the police sources, there was an enmity between the accused and victim. Shyam went to the house of Madhavan Nayar and stabbed him to death on Saturday, November 17 noon. Though he attempted to flee the spot immediately after the incident, the locals chased him, caught him and then handed him over to police, sources said.
