Thiruvananthapuram: A young radio jockey was murdered in his studio in an attack that also left a friend wounded on March 27 morning, police said.
A senior police official said the incident took place at around 2 AM at Attingal, about 50 km from here.
“Rajesh had returned to his studio after a function when a group of four armed men barged in and slashed him to death. His friend was injured in the attack,” said the official.
Rajesh alias Rasikan Rajesh (36) and his friend Kuttan had just returned from a stage performance and were putting back their equipment in the studio when they were attacked.
Both the men were rushed to the hospital by the police after the locals informed them of what had happened.
Rajesh succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital. Kuttan however, is recovering.
Police are yet to identify the perpetrators and establish a motive behind the attack.
Rajesh started his career with a leading FM radio here. After a brief stint in the Middle East, he had been making programmes on his own. He is survived by wife and a son.
