Bareilly: In a rather bizzare incident, an argument between two friends over a meagre amount of Rs 10 ended when one of them was stabed by the other, on Saturday, October 13.
The deceased has been identified as Prempal Gangwar (42).
According to the police, Prempal had gone to his friend Ahibaran Lal’s salon for a haircut on Friday evening, October 12, where they began to argue over Rs 10. At first, people thought nothing of the fight as the two had been good friends for the past 20 years. Things took a turn for the worse, however, when Prempal slapped Ahibaran. The angered salon owner answered the slap by stabbing Prempal in the chest with a pair of scissors. He also attacked Prempal’s sons, when they tried to intervene, before fleeing from the spot.
The injured Prempal was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, said sources at the Bhuta police station and added that a search was on to apprehend Ahibaran.
A case stands registered against Ahibaran with the Bhuta police station.
