Being inebriated is the worst state to be in when you are about to receive some bad news. The loss of a job, finding out your favourite restaurant closed down, the death of a cat perhaps? While these may be some serious let downs, finding out that your husband has been cheating on you while you drunkenly check his phone, on a plane of all places, really has to take the depressing cake!
A Qatar Airway flight from Doha to Bali on November 5, was the scene of the rather peculiar show, when an Iranian woman unlocked her napping husband’s phone only to find out that he had been cheating on her.
In a rage known only to cheating husbands, the wife started arguing with her husband, much to the annoyance and discomfort of their fellow passengers, and misbehaved with the crew members trying to stabilise her.
When all attempts to calm the woman failed, the flight was diverted to Chennai and the trio (cheating husband, scorned wife and hapless child) were deboarded, after which the plane made its merry way to Bali free of the fuming wife.
The family, not having Indian visas, were cordoned off in a detention centre as the officials at the Chennai airport were also unsuccessful at calming the woman down. The family was later boarded onto a Kuala Lumpur flight from where they were to catch a flight back to Doha.
Qatar Airways has refused to make a comment citing passenger’s privacy issues.
