Security Heightened Around Rediscovered Hanuman-Shiva Temple in Varanasi
Security measures have been increased around a centuries-old Hanuman-Shiva Temple recently rediscovered in the Madanpur area of Varanasi, following the unearthing of three idols from a well near the ancient Shiva-Hanuman Temple in Sambhal, just a week earlier.
The temple in Varanasi, believed to be dedicated to Siddheshwar Mahadev, is estimated to be around 250 years old. The discovery has drawn attention, and authorities have ensured heightened security in the area to prevent any disturbances.
Varanasi Municipal Commissioner Akshat Verma remarked on Tuesday that any further decisions related to the site would be in the hands of the police, highlighting the importance of maintaining order and ensuring the safety of the rediscovered historical location.
This comes amid growing interest in the temple and its historical significance. The reopening of the Shiva-Hanuman temple in Sambhal and the recent findings of idols have fueled discussions regarding the preservation and protection of such ancient religious sites.
