
Seetharam Shetty: A Legacy of Education and Service
Seetharam Shetty, an esteemed educator and former principal of Barkur Pre-University College, passed away early this morning at 1 a.m. after a brief illness.
With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, Shetty earned widespread admiration for his invaluable contributions to education. He held the position of vice president of the Barkur Educational Society and was deeply involved with the Bharatiya Vikas Trust, championing the cause of environmental conservation.
A passionate supporter of agriculture and water preservation, Shetty inspired countless young minds to engage in these vital causes. His devotion to Yakshagana, a traditional art form, made him a lifetime member of the Yakshagana Kalaranga.
He is survived by his wife, three daughters, and an extensive network of students and well-wishers.
M. Gangadhara Rao, president of the organization, and Murali Kadekar, secretary, expressed their heartfelt condolences, remembering him as an exceptional educator and mentor whose legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
