Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who bagged his first-ever National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in Atlee’s blockbuster Jawan, found himself in an amusing moment at the award ceremony in Vigyan Bhawan on Tuesday.

As President Droupadi Murmu presented him the honour, Khan was seen struggling to wear his National Award medal. The lighthearted incident caught the attention of the audience at the venue and viewers online, quickly going viral across social media platforms.

Rani Mukerji, Vikrant Massey come to rescue

Videos from the ceremony show Rani Mukerji and Vikrant Massey helping Khan detangle the medal, which left both the star and the audience smiling. The endearing clip has since flooded timelines, with fans calling it “the cutest video on the internet.”

One fan wrote, “He’s so innocent and pookie coded,” while others praised the camaraderie between the awardees.

Career milestone for SRK

The National Award marks a significant achievement in Shah Rukh Khan’s 33-year career, in which he has been widely loved but had never won this recognition until now.

He shared the Best Actor honour with Vikrant Massey, who was awarded for 12th Fail. Ahead of receiving his medal, Khan added to the celebratory mood by blowing flying kisses to the audience.

In Jawan, Khan essayed a dual role — a soldier father and his son, a police officer — with the film earning ₹1,100 crore worldwide and being declared an all-time blockbuster.

What’s next for King Khan

On the professional front, Khan is gearing up for his next project, King, which stars his daughter Suhana Khan, along with Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, and others.
