Patna, Bihar: The investigation into the shocking Patna hospital shooting has taken a dramatic turn with new CCTV footage surfacing on Friday, allegedly showing the accused gunmen celebrating after killing Chandan Mishra, a parolee with multiple murder charges against him.

In the footage that has gone viral on social media, three of the attackers are seen riding a bike, with one brandishing a gun and raising his hands in triumph. A second bike, carrying three more men, follows closely. All six were spotted at Paras Hospital, where the daylight shooting took place on Thursday.

Though HT.com has not independently verified the video, police officials have confirmed progress in the case. Inspector General (IG) Jitendra Rana stated that all six suspects have been identified, with several already detained in Patna and Buxar.

The incident has sent shockwaves across Bihar, raising serious concerns over law and order in public spaces. According to SSP Kartikeya K Sharma, Chandan Mishra was on parole for medical reasons and admitted to the hospital. He was gunned down inside the facility by a rival gang.

Police teams are now working to trace the full network behind the attack, and have access to photographic evidence of the shooters.

The shooting comes amid a string of high-profile murders in Bihar, including that of BJP leader Surendra Kewat in Sheikhpura and businessman Gopal Khemka near Gandhi Maidan—highlighting a troubling trend of escalating gang-related violence.
