Muzzafarnagar: In a tragic incident, six migrant workers from Bihar were killed near Muzaffarnagar after a state-run bus hit them, on Wednesday night.
At least three others have been injured in the mishap and have been admitted to a local hospital.
It is learnt that the accident took place at Muzaffarnagar-Saharanpur state highway at around 11 PM.
The victims were walking back to their home state from Punjab where they used to work as daily wage labourers.
In a similar incident that took place on May 8, 16 migrant labourers were killed at Karmad railway station between Jalna and Aurangabad of Nanded Divison of South Central Railways.
They were sleeping on the railway track when the tragedy took place.
Later, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) had issued notice to the Maharashtra state government over the incident.
