The discovery of human bones in a long-abandoned house near Hyderabad’s Nampally market has left locals deeply unsettled.

On Monday, a resident entered the locked property to retrieve a cricket ball and was shocked to find a human skeleton inside. He filmed the scene—showing a skeleton lying face down on the kitchen floor amid scattered utensils—and shared the video on Facebook, where it quickly went viral.

Police teams led by Deputy Commissioner Chandramohan broke open the door and secured the remains, which were later transported to the mortuary for forensic analysis to confirm the deceased’s identity and cause of death.

A CLUES team specializing in crime scene investigation collected samples from the house. Preliminary observations suggest no visible injuries or blood stains, indicating the death may have occurred naturally.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Kishan Kumar, the property belongs to Muneer Khan, who has 10 children. His fourth son, reportedly about 50 years old, single, and mentally unwell, is believed to have been living alone in the house when he died.

“The bones were fragile, indicating he has been dead for several years,” Kumar explained. “We are speaking with the family to gather more details.”

Neighbors confirmed the house had been locked and unoccupied for over seven years. An official inquest report is expected to be filed shortly.
