A Dubai-bound Emirates flight was delayed at Chennai airport last night after smoke was spotted billowing from the tail of a Boeing 777 aircraft. The incident occurred while the plane was on the tarmac, with no passengers aboard at the time. Ground staff alerted the pilots, who promptly shut down the engines to prevent escalation. Fire engines were called to control the situation.
The flight, scheduled to depart at 10 pm, was delayed by over two hours and eventually took off at 12:30 am. Emirates apologized for the inconvenience, emphasizing passenger and crew safety. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered an investigation into the matter.
