A 27-year-old software engineer lost his life in a tragic road accident near Ghatkesar on Sunday evening after swerving his motorcycle to avoid a stray dog.

The deceased has been identified as Vishwa Teja, a native of Nizamabad district, who was employed at a software firm in Gachibowli. He was returning home after visiting the Yadagirigutta temple on the occasion of Shivaratri.

Sudden swerve leads to fatal fall

According to Ghatkesar police, the accident occurred near the police station limits close to Maysamma Gutta along the bypass road. A stray dog reportedly darted onto the road, prompting Teja to steer abruptly to avoid hitting the animal.

In the process, he lost balance and fell into a roadside pit adjacent to the bypass. The impact caused severe injuries.

Local residents who witnessed the incident immediately alerted the police and called for ambulance services. Teja was rushed to a private hospital in Medipally, where doctors declared him dead.

Investigation underway

Police officials stated that a case will be registered upon receipt of a formal complaint. Further investigation will examine road conditions and other contributing factors.

The incident has once again raised concerns over road safety, stray animal movement on highways, and the presence of open roadside pits that pose serious risks to motorists.

Authorities have urged riders to exercise caution, particularly during festival travel and on stretches with limited visibility.
