In a festive display ahead of Holi, SpiceJet cabin crew members took to the aisle of a flight to dance to the popular song “Balam Pichkari” from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. The spirited performance, which was shared on Instagram by entrepreneur Govind Roy, has gone viral, amassing over 360k views.
In the video, the crew, dressed in white uniforms, are seen moving energetically in the aisle, while passengers cheer, record, and enjoy the moment. The post’s caption reads: “SpiceJet entertaining their customers like this on the occasion of Holi.”
However, not everyone found the in-flight performance amusing. Some social media users were quick to criticize the act, calling it unprofessional and questioning the airline’s standards. One user stated, “Airlines should maintain some standards,” while another referred to the incident as the “downfall of SpiceJet.”
Others expressed concerns about the crew being forced to participate in the performance, with comments such as: “Why @spicejetairlines? Why are you forcing people to do jobs outside their job description?” Some long-time customers also voiced their displeasure, with one recalling, “I decided it would be my last time with them.”
Despite the divided reactions, the video continues to attract attention, raising questions about the line between customer entertainment and professional boundaries in the airline industry.
