BENGALURU: Just a day before SSLC preparatory exams for science and social science, their question papers surfaced on YouTube, raising alarms about a possible breach within the education department. The exams, scheduled for March 3 and 4, had their full papers uploaded online on March 2 and 3.

Shocking leak raises serious concerns

A senior education official revealed that question papers should only reach schools or exam centres two hours before the test. However, they are sent to distribution centres a day prior, fueling suspicions about how they were leaked.

The leaked social science paper, uploaded as a YouTube Shorts video on March 3, had nearly 10,000 views and was shared 24,000 times. The channel ‘Hacker Ani,’ with just 73 subscribers, had also uploaded the science paper on March 2, though it was later removed after intervention from Education Commissioner KV Trilok Chandra.

Call for strict action against culprits

Following the leak, the Associated Managements of Primary and Secondary Schools in Karnataka (KAMS) urged Police Commissioner B Dayananda to investigate. However, the SSLC board has yet to file a formal complaint.

D Shashi Kumar, KAMS General Secretary, suspects involvement from insiders in the education department and private coaching centres. He urged the Karnataka Police to form a special investigation team to trace the culprits.
