What began as a frustrating loss turned into a powerful reminder of human kindness after a travel vlogger recovered his stolen iPhone six months later — not through police action, but through the honesty of a complete stranger in Delhi.

The vlogger, who has often spoken about his dislike for the city due to pollution, crowds and noise, shared the experience in a viral Instagram video that has since struck a chord with thousands.

A phone lost, hope gone

According to the vlogger, he bought his first iPhone in January 2025 during the Mahakumbh and used it extensively for content creation. In August, just two days before his birthday, the phone was stolen in Delhi. Despite filing complaints and tracking attempts, he eventually lost all hope of recovering it.

A late-night call that changed everything

Six months later, around 10 pm one night, he received a call from an unknown number. The caller introduced himself as Sandeep, a young man who runs a small pizza stall in Karol Bagh. Sandeep said an e-rickshaw driver had tried to sell him the phone, but noticing it was stolen, he refused to buy it and decided to keep it safe.

Still sceptical, the vlogger booked a 3 am train to Delhi, unsure whether it was genuine or a scam.

Faith restored

When he arrived, Sandeep handed over the phone without asking for anything in return. The vlogger later explained that Apple’s Find My Device feature had helped — he had activated Lost Mode and left his contact details on the screen, which Sandeep saw.

“This one act changed how I feel about Delhi,” the vlogger said, concluding, “Travel is not about places. Travel is about people.”

The video has since drawn praise online, with users calling it proof that honesty and humanity still prevail.
