Supreme Court directs Mamata’s cops to cooperate with CBI probe

New Delhi: The Supreme Court of India, in its hearing on the CBI (Central Bureau Investigation) v/s Mamata Banerjee on the investigation of the Saradha Chitfund case, has directed the Police Commissioner of Kolkata, Rajeev Kumar to make himself available and fully cooperative, here on Tuesday, February 5.

The CJI (Chief Justice of India) Ranjan Gogoi has said that the Apex Court would deal with the petitions filed, later.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee has said that it was the Trinamool Congress’s (TMC) moral victory and that the party would respect the court orders.

Mamata Banerjee, addressing the media was observed with a selective approach towards the questions posed by the media personnel and said that she would not comment anything on the Bharatiya Janata Party and CBI.

She has made clear stating, “If the CBI officials conduct a probe on the chitfund scam ethically, without any political pressure or motive, then I will welcome them and treat them more than a guest.”
