New Delhi: Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday underwent dialysis after a kidney failure.
“I am in AIIMS because of kidney failure. Presently, I am on dialysis. Lord Krishna will bless,” the ailing minister tweeted.
The Bharatiya Janata Party leader said she was also undergoing tests for a kidney transplant.
“Her condition is stable. Her history of chronic diabetes has affected her kidney functioning. She is on dialysis,” said sources at AIIMS.
She was admitted to AIIMS on November 7 and is being monitored by a team of doctors. Swaraj is admitted at the cardio-neuro centre under the supervision of Balram Airan, chief of the Cardio Thoracic Centre.
She has been suffering from diabetes for almost 20 years. The 64-year-old BJP leader was admitted to AIIMS in April also when she underwent treatment for pneumonia and other health issues.
