A 36-year-old woman named Divya was found dead under suspicious circumstances in her rented home in Varandarappilly. Divya was the wife of 40-year-old Kunjumon, who is now in police custody.
According to preliminary information, there were visible marks on Divya’s neck, leading investigators to suspect she may have been suffocated. It is alleged that a domestic dispute, fueled by Kunjumon’s suspicions about her relationship with a textile shop employee, may have led to the incident.
Initially, Kunjumon claimed Divya died of chest pain and informed relatives accordingly. However, inconsistencies during the inquest raised doubts, prompting the police to detain him for questioning.
The Varandarappilly police, in coordination with forensic experts, have launched a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding Divya’s death.
