Meerut: While the country is anxious about the spread and how to deal with the deadly covid-19, swine flu (H1N1) has created havoc by reportedly claiming eight lives.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Rajkumar, speaking to ANI said that a team of six members has been formed to assess the situation and understand the cause of death.
According to recent reports, as many as 81 people have been infected by swine flu, including 20 Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) jawans.
The CMO said, “Of the 20 who have been admitted, 11 have been discharged and nine will be discharged in another five days. As of now, around 387 people have been tested for swine flu and eight people have succumbed to the illness.”
Earlier, an official from the Directorate of Health Services team of Uttar Pradesh, Dr H K Agarwal had informed that the team had come to conduct a full-fledged survey of the hospitals and to handle the situation.
He also assured that there was no shortage of medicines.
