A bakery in Tamil Nadu has paid a unique homage to the late industrialist Ratan Tata by unveiling a stunning 7-foot ice cake statue of him playing with his beloved German Shepherd, Tito. The statue, crafted from 60 kilograms of sugar and 250 eggs, is displayed outside Aishwarya Bakeries, renowned for its annual tradition of creating ice cake statues of notable figures.
Past tributes have included icons such as Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and football legend Diego Maradona. Tata, who passed away on October 9 in Mumbai, was known for his deep love for animals. His bond with Tito was well-documented, with Tata ensuring lifelong care for his dog after his passing, as Tito remains in the care of Tata’s longtime cook, Rajan Shaw.
In a heartwarming act of devotion, Tata had previously declined a royal honour in 2018 from King Charles III to stay by Tito’s side when the dog fell critically ill. This tribute has captured the attention of many, with visitors flocking to Aishwarya Bakeries to take photographs and reflect on Tata’s affection for his pets. The statue will remain on display through the Christmas season.
