In the tranquil ambiance of Tamil Nadu’s dense forest, a captivating video featuring a family of elephants has taken the internet by storm after being shared by Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Supriya Sahu. The endearing footage captures the jumbo family, complete with adorable calves, relishing the presence of a newly constructed water trough. This initiative, spearheaded by the Tamil Nadu Forest Department, aims to ensure access to clean water within wildlife habitats as part of broader conservation efforts.

The heart-touching video portrays the gentle giants quenching their thirst and finding comfort in the simplicity of a water trough. It serves as a poignant reminder of the positive impact that thoughtful conservation measures can have on the inhabitants of the forest.

Accompanying the video, Sahu’s caption highlights the significance of the initiative, stating, “A beautiful elephant family with babies in tow bonds over a water trough newly constructed in a deep forest area in Tamil Nadu for elephants & wildlife. TN Forest Department is creating these troughs to ensure an adequate supply of water for wildlife. Last year 17 troughs were created and this year 18 are underway under the TN Biodiversity Conservation and Greening Project for Climate Change Response.”

Since its posting, the video has garnered significant attention, amassing over 24,000 views on social media platform X.
