Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a two-day visit to Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, and Kerala. In Tiruchirappalli, he participated in the 38th Convocation Ceremony of Bharathidasan University, where he was received by Chief Minister MK Stalin and Governor RN Ravi. The Prime Minister later inaugurated the new terminal building at Tiruchirappalli International Airport, developed at a cost exceeding ₹1,100 crore.
During his visit to Tamil Nadu, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various projects with a total value exceeding ₹19,850 crore. The initiatives aim to contribute to the overall development of the region.
In Lakshadweep, the Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth more than ₹1,150 crore. The projects included the Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands Submarine Optical Fiber Connection (KLI – SOFC) project and the Low-Temperature Thermal Desalination (LTTD) plant at Kadmat. Additionally, the first-ever battery-backed solar power project of Lakshadweep, a solar power plant at Kavaratti, was dedicated to the nation during the visit.
The Prime Minister’s visit will conclude on January 3 in Kerala, where he is expected to engage in various programs and initiatives.
