A primary teacher in Jehanabad, Bihar, was suspended after a video of her making derogatory remarks about Bihar and its people went viral. In the video, the teacher, identified as Dipali Sah, expressed frustration about her posting in what she referred to as “India’s worst f*****g region.” She went on to criticize the civic sense of Bihar’s people, claiming that India is only considered a developing country because Bihar is part of it.

The controversial video shows the teacher on probation at Kendriya Vidyalaya, making offensive comments about her posting in Bihar, while comparing it to more desirable locations such as Goa, Himachal Pradesh, and Ladakh. In the second part of the video, which appears to have been filmed after her arrival in Bihar, she repeatedly stated that the people of Bihar have “zero civic sense” and claimed that the state’s inclusion was holding back India’s development.

Following the video’s circulation, Samastipur MP Shambhavi sent a letter to the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), calling for strict action against the teacher. She labeled the remarks as “inappropriate, unacceptable, and unbecoming of an educator” and stressed the importance of preserving the trust and integrity of educational institutions.

The KVS swiftly responded, suspending the teacher with immediate effect, as per rule 10 of the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control, and Appeal) Rules, 1965. The statement also mentioned that she would be posted to KVS in Mashrakh, Saran district.
