In a chilling case from Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri district, police arrested three individuals—including a 17-year-old girl—for the murder of 13-year-old S Rohit near Anchetti. The accused have been identified as P Madevan (21), M Madevan (22), and a minor girl, all residents of Manavatti village.
According to Krishnagiri SP P Thangadurai, Rohit, a relative of the girl, had accidentally witnessed her in an intimate moment with P Madevan near a temple on Wednesday. When confronted, the couple pleaded with him to remain silent. However, fearing exposure, they allegedly plotted his murder.
The accused lured Rohit into a car, pretending to take him for a casual outing. CCTV footage later showed them stopping at a local eatery to buy him fruit juice. During the drive, Rohit reportedly made remarks about the girl and threatened to inform her parents. Enraged, P Madevan smothered the boy using the girl’s shawl. The trio then disposed of the body in a forested area near the road.
Rohit was reported missing by his family on Wednesday night. His body was discovered the next day in a roadside ditch. Based on investigation and evidence, Anchetti police booked the three for kidnapping and murder.
The brutal nature of the crime and the involvement of a minor have shocked the local community, prompting calls for a deeper look into juvenile involvement in serious crimes.
