Patna: With the 2025 Bihar Legislative Assembly elections approaching, both alliances have announced their chief ministerial candidates ahead of the polls scheduled for November 6 and 11. The results will be declared on November 14 for the 243-seat assembly, setting the stage for a high-stakes political battle.
NDA’s Chief Ministerial Candidate
Union Minister Giriraj Singh confirmed that Nitish Kumar will be the NDA’s chief ministerial candidate. Singh emphasized that the alliance remains united, with no disagreements among its partners over seat-sharing arrangements. He also contrasted the NDA’s cohesion with the opposition, highlighting uncertainty within the Mahagathbandhan, particularly around the Congress-RJD dynamics.
Mahagathbandhan’s Chief Ministerial Candidate
The Mahagathbandhan officially announced Tejashwi Yadav as its Chief Ministerial face. Congress leader Ashok Gehlot described Yadav as young and committed, while the alliance also named Mukesh Sahani, leader of the Vikassheel Insaan Party, as the Deputy Chief Minister candidate. Tejashwi Yadav stressed that the alliance is united and focused on rebuilding Bihar.
