On the eve of the Bihar Assembly Election 2025 results, Mahagathbandhan leader Tejashwi Yadav declared with confidence that his alliance is set to form the next government in the state. Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, he said the “historic voter turnout” signalled a clear mandate for political change in Bihar.
‘People Have Voted for Change’
Calling the turnout “unprecedented,” Yadav said significantly more people cast their votes this year compared to the 2020 Assembly polls. He asserted that this surge reflected widespread public desire for a shift in governance.
“We’re all forming the government. The people of Bihar have voted in large numbers compared to 2020. People have voted for change. Tomorrow, we’re winning the elections,” he said, expressing full confidence in the Mahagathbandhan’s prospects.
Warning to Administration: ‘Don’t Cross Your Limits’
A major portion of Yadav’s address was directed at the state administrative machinery. Issuing a sharp warning, he said any undue interference or partisan conduct during vote counting would be met with strong public reaction.
“If the administration crosses its limits or acts at someone’s behest, the public will give a befitting reply,” he cautioned, urging officials to uphold constitutional duties and maintain transparency.
‘Workers Stationed at All Counting Centres’
Reassuring party cadres, Yadav said Mahagathbandhan workers would be present at every counting centre to ensure a fair process. He reminded officials about “mistakes made in 2020” and warned against “unconstitutional work” or any form of injustice.
He added that the public was “ready to stand on one leg” in protest if attempts were made to influence the outcome.
Accuses BJP of Planning to Slow Down Counting
Targeting the BJP, Yadav alleged that the ruling party was “scared and restless” and might attempt to delay counting in close contests. He claimed his party had received inputs indicating a strategy to slow down the process in seats with narrow margins.
Appeal to Election Commission for Impartiality
Yadav urged the Election Commission and district officials to conduct the vote count impartially, stressing that the credibility of democratic institutions depended on fairness.
“Our workers are vigilant, and our victory is certain,” he said, emphasising that only a transparent counting process would reflect the true mandate of Bihar’s voters.
