Suryapet: six individuals died and two others suffered serious injuries after the car they were traveling in rammed into a stationary lorry at Durgapuram in Kodad taluk of the district on Thursday morning.
The accident occurred on NH 65 while the car was en route from Hyderabad to Vijayawada. There were 10 occupants in the car. The lorry was stationary as it had broken down.
The deceased have been identified as Manikyamma, Chander Rao, Swarna, Lasya, Krishna Rao, and Jella Srikanth, all residents of Govindapuram in Bonakal mandal, Khammam district. The injured individuals have been rushed to the government hospital in Kodad.
