Hyderabad : The Congress party on Tuesday named Revanth Reddy was appointed Telangana’s chief minister by the Congress party on Tuesday.
AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal made the statement on Tuesday night in New Delhi.
On December 7, Revanth Reddy is scheduled to take the oath of office as the Chief Minister.
The news was made the day after the newly elected Congress legislators gave AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge permission to name the Congress Legislature Party’s (CLP) leader.
Kharge took the decision after consultation with party MP Rahul Gandhi and other leaders.
Revanth Reddy, who is currently the President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), led the party’s election campaign.
The Congress party bagged 64 seats in the 119-member Assembly.
