Telangana: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao expressed confidence in securing a hat-trick victory in the upcoming Assembly elections later this year. He predicted that his party, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), would secure 5-6 more seats compared to their 2018 tally of 88 seats in the 119-member Assembly.
Speaking at a public gathering in Suryapet, Rao criticized both the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging power cuts in Karnataka after the Congress came into power there. He dismissed their election promises as false, referring to them as “new beggars” trying to entice voters.
Rao highlighted the BRS’s commitment to enhancing pensions, countering the Congress’s promise of Rs 4,000 per month for senior citizens and widows. He also inaugurated various new buildings, criticizing past Congress leaders for not contributing to the district’s development and pointing out the BRS government’s achievements, including farm loan waivers and direct schemes like Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Beema.
He stressed the importance of voting, suggesting that voters’ choices determine their own destinies. He concluded by encouraging voters to consider carefully the parties they support in the elections.
