Mumbai: The Shiv Sena has clarified that ‘all is well’ between the coalition partners in Maharashtra and that the there is no need to worry about the stability of the government.
It may be recalled that reports have been making rounds about a rift between the state’s ruling coaltion over the tackling of the coronavirus crisis in the state, which is one of the worst-hit.
The assurance of unity within the coalition came after Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray met NCP chief Sharad Pawar, at the former’s residence ‘Matoshree’, on Monday evening.
Before meeting the CM, Pawar had met Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari. NCP leader Praful Patel had called the meeting ‘a courtsy meet’.
Following the meeting, Sena MP Sanjay Raut said that the two leaders met and the state is not facing any political turmoil.
“Sharad Pawar and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray met at Matoshri yesterday evening. The two leaders had a discussion for an hour and a half. If anyone is spreading news about the stability of the government, it is their stomach ache. The government is strong. No worries. Jai Maharashtra!!” tweeted Raut.
Interestingly, BJP leader Narayan Rane also met Governor Koshyari on Monday (May 25) and demanded that the President’s Rule should be imposed in the state.
