New Delhi: The Accidental Prime Minister, the film based on the book about the decade that former Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh spent in office, written by his media advisor Sanjay Baru, might not hit screens in Congress-ruled Madhya Pradesh.
The trailer of the controversial film was released on Thursday afternoon and since then it has left the Congress in an uncomfortable spot.
The film has now become a talking point at the national political circle with leaders taking potshots at one another. While the BJP lauded the trailer, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and politician Omar Abdullah took a dig at the recently-released trailer.
Omar Abdullah wrote on Twitter, “Can’t wait for when they make The Insensitive Prime Minister. So much worse than being the accidental one,”
The Accidental Prime Minister stars Anupam Kher as Manmohan Singh and Akshaye Khanna as his media advisor Sanjaya Baru.
Randeep Surjewala, a Congress spokesperson, called the trailer ‘fake propaganda’.
The Accidental Prime Minister, directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, is slated to hit the screens on January 11, 2019.
