Amroha : Three sisters from Uttar Pradesh‘s Amroha district have come under the national spotlight after reportedly marrying the same man in a temple ceremony. The unusual marriage has sparked widespread discussion and criticism, with several organisations questioning its legality and compatibility with established social and religious norms.
The sisters, who create content on social media platforms, reportedly said they chose to marry a single individual because they did not want to live apart after marriage. The groom, identified as photographer and cameraman Vikas alias Vikku, had allegedly been working with the sisters for the past six months.
Wedding draws criticism
According to reports, none of the family members attended the ceremony. Videos of the wedding later surfaced on social media and quickly went viral, attracting mixed reactions from the public.
Several Hindu organisations have objected to the marriage, stating that such a union is inconsistent with accepted religious practices and social conventions.
Police await formal complaint
Police officials said no formal complaint has been received in connection with the incident so far, and therefore no legal action has been initiated.
While the marriage has generated significant online attention, its legal validity, if challenged, would be subject to the provisions of applicable personal and civil laws. Authorities have not announced any investigation at this stage.
