A viral video shared by IFS officer Parveen Kaswan on February 4 showcases an incredible wildlife rescue at Pench National Park, Madhya Pradesh. The video, which has garnered 1.6 lakh views in just a few hours, features a calm and cooperative tiger and wild boar being rescued from a well in Pipariya Harduli village, part of the Pench Tiger Reserve. Both animals remained remarkably composed throughout the rescue operation.

The tiger and boar had fallen into the well early in the morning, and villagers alerted the forest department. A rescue team arrived promptly, using a crane and a traditional village cot (khatia) to lift both animals to safety. Fortunately, neither animal was harmed, and both were later released back into the wild.

Kaswan praised the team for their successful and efficient efforts, noting the uniqueness of each wildlife rescue situation and the need for instant decision-making in such cases.

Social media reactions were filled with awe at the animals’ calmness, with many commenting on their mutual cooperation. One user remarked, “The instinct to live can unite even the fiercest of beings,” while another said, “Humans must learn from the animal kingdom every day.”

The Pench Tiger Reserve, where Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book was inspired, is home to 44 tigers as of 2021.
