ONGOLE: Panic spread across Palutla village and nearby hamlets in Prakasam district after a suspected tiger attack killed two oxen on Thursday night. The attack occurred close to the village secretariat, where the cattle had been sheltered.

The cattle owner discovered the oxen dead, bearing distinct claw marks, raising immediate fears of a big cat presence. Forest officials later confirmed that the killings were the work of a tiger.

A team from Ganjivaripalli forest range, led by Range Officer Subba Rao, visited the spot on Friday morning. After inspecting the carcasses, the officials verified it was a tiger attack.

Authorities assured compensation to the cattle owner and urged vigilance among villagers. Locals have been advised to avoid remote fields and forest fringes, especially at night.

This incident adds to the growing human-wildlife conflict in the region, with officials promising continued monitoring and safety measures.
