A 22-year-old man from Farrukhabad was rescued just in time by Agra Police on July 1 after he attempted to jump off a flyover, following a personal dispute with his wife.

The young man had travelled to the Tajganj area in Agra in hopes of reconciling with his wife and persuading her to return home. However, when she refused, he grew emotionally distraught and walked to the Shamshabad flyover on the Inner Ring Road, where he sat on the edge, preparing to take his life.

A dramatic video of the incident has since gone viral on social media. In the footage, the man is seen perched dangerously close to the edge as a crowd gathers below—some watching in concern, others filming the scene.

The turning point came when a brave policeman quietly approached the man from behind and swiftly pulled him to safety, thwarting the suicide attempt. The officer’s timely intervention drew appreciation from the public.

Authorities have begun a detailed investigation into the incident, looking into the background of the domestic conflict. The police are also offering the man counseling support and guidance.

This incident underscores the critical role of quick police response in preventing tragedies linked to mental health and personal crises.
