City police were on high alert on Sunday following a bomb threat to a shopping mall in Tirumangalam, which was later confirmed to be a hoax. The threat, received via email, prompted immediate action from law enforcement. This marks the second hoax threat to the same mall in recent weeks.

Upon receiving the threat, mall authorities alerted the police, who swiftly involved the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS). The team conducted a thorough sweep of the premises to ensure safety. Fortunately, the threat was ultimately declared a hoax.

Police sources revealed that similar threats had been reported at over 30 malls across the country. In a related incident, a private school in the city received its ninth hoax bomb threat via email two weeks ago. City police have stated that they are working with international agencies to investigate the increasing frequency of these false alarms.
