Tamil Nadu: The states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala have been put on high alert since Thursday midnight after the intelligence inputs hinted that a six-member group affiliated to the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) had infiltrated into TN by sea route from Sri Lanka.
The information stated that there are possibilities of one infiltrator being a Pakistani and five Sri Lankan Tamils. Following this, the TN police launched a combing operating in several locations. According to the warning, the Pakistani has been identified as Illyas Anwar. The details have been sent to all city police commissioners and SPs. Security has been stepped up at many places, including airports, railway stations, bus stands and places of worship across the state. An alert has been sounded, especially in coastal districts, to prevent any further possible intrusion, the police said.

Kerala police on high alert after LeT intrusion reported
Kerala Police chief Loknath Behra, on Friday issued an urgent notice to all the police officials in the 14 districts asking them to be on high alert following an intelligence input. Behra has asked the police officials to be extra vigilant at bus stations, railway stations, airports, religious places and other sensitive areas as Kerala shares a border with Tamil Nadu at a few places. Behra’s notice states that residents should call 112 or the police control room at 0471 2722500, if they notice anything untoward. Security has been beefed up in the border areas between Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
