Near Ambala, a truck and the family’s bus from Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, collided. According to witnesses, the accident was caused by the truck that was in front of the bus applying its brakes suddenly. Because the driver could not stop the bus in time, it struck the truck from behind.

Visuals from the spot show the front of the bus mangled from the impact of the crash.

“The truck driver slammed on his brakes when the car in front of him abruptly turned at a gas pump. “Our bus couldn’t stop in time because it was behind it,” one of the survivors, Dheeraj, stated.

Three family members passed away immediately, and four more passed away while receiving hospital care. At multiple hospitals, more than twenty people are receiving treatment for severe injuries.

The truck driver fled the scene, according to the police, but his car was seized. An investigation has been launched and a case has been filed.
