IAF Engineer Fatally Shot in Prayagraj

A civil engineer with the Indian Air Force (IAF), SN Mishra (51), was shot dead while sleeping at his official residence in Prayagraj’s cantonment area on Saturday morning. According to police, an unidentified assailant fired through a window, striking him in the chest. Mishra was rushed to the Army hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The police have launched an investigation, and legal proceedings will follow after a formal complaint from his family. He is survived by his wife, son, and daughter.

Army Officer Found Dead in Ranchi

In a separate incident, Lt. Col. Diwarkar Singh (49) was found dead in the parking lot of Khelgaon housing complex in Ranchi on Tuesday. He was stationed at Dipatoli cantonment and had been living in Ranchi with his family for a year. Initial reports suggest he may have fallen from a building, but the police are investigating all possibilities, including murder and suicide. Singh’s family mentioned he had been under work-related stress.

Post-mortem reports are awaited in both cases as authorities continue their investigations.
