In a heartbreaking incident in Hyderabad’s Gulshan Colony, a man named Jagat, employed as a security guard, fatally injured his 14-day-old infant daughter by cutting her throat near their residence on Thursday. Authorities believe the motive behind this brutal act was his unwillingness to have another girl child.

Police reports reveal that around 2 a.m., while his spouse and two elder daughters were asleep, Jagat took the newborn to a secluded location close to their home. There, he used a sharp blade to inflict the fatal wound. After committing the crime, he abandoned the baby’s lifeless body in a trash dump near the Seven Tombs area before returning to the house.

The infant’s disappearance was noticed at approximately 5 a.m. by Jagat’s wife, who immediately questioned him. Under pressure, Jagat admitted to the killing. He was promptly detained by law enforcement officials.

This tragic event has shocked the local community, raising concerns about gender-based violence and child safety. Police are continuing their investigation into the incident and have vowed to take strict action.

The case highlights the dark reality of female infanticide and the urgent need for awareness and prevention measures.
