Mysuru: A devastating accident in the VV Puram police jurisdiction claimed the lives of two final-year students from JSS Law College during the early hours of Saturday.

Authorities identified the deceased as Adithya (22) from Ooty, Tamil Nadu, and Yogeshwar (22) from Bengaluru. The young men were critically injured and later succumbed to their wounds at the hospital, police confirmed.

The accident unfolded on Open-Air Theatre Road around 12:10 am. The duo was inside a car when the driver lost command of the vehicle, colliding violently with an avenue tree. The impact inflicted severe injuries upon both occupants.

Concerned passersby, witnessing the wreckage, immediately alerted law enforcement and emergency services. The injured were swiftly transported to a medical facility, but despite medical intervention, they could not be saved.

Investigators revealed that the vehicle involved was owned by one of the victims. Following postmortem formalities, the bodies were returned to their grieving families.

This incident once again highlights the perils of late-night driving and loss of vehicular control. Authorities urge motorists to exercise caution, especially on less-traveled roads at odd hours.
