The Indian Railways on Monday confirmed a nominal revision in passenger train fares, effective July 1, 2025. This fare adjustment, earlier anticipated, aims to ensure service viability and make fare calculations simpler, as per a notification from the Ministry of Railways.
The changes are based on the newly updated Passenger Fare Table from the Indian Railway Conference Association (IRCA). Tickets booked before July 1 will remain valid under the old rates. All reservation systems—PRS, UTS, and manual counters—are being updated to reflect the new pricing.
Key Fare Revisions:
✅ Suburban and season ticket fares remain unchanged.
For Regular Non-AC (Non-suburban) Trains:

No change for trips up to 500 km
₹5 rise for 501–1500 km
₹10 for 1501–2500 km
₹15 for 2501–3000 km
Sleeper Class & First Class:

Increase of 0.5 paisa/km
For Non-AC Mail/Express Services:

All classes (Second, Sleeper, First):

Hike of 1 paisa per kilometre
For AC Classes in Mail/Express Trains:

All categories, including Chair Car, AC 3-tier, AC 2-tier, First AC & Executive Classes, will see a 2 paisa/km increase
The revised fares apply to premium and special trains, including Vande Bharat, Shatabdi, Rajdhani, Duronto, and others.
