The Indian Railways on Monday confirmed a nominal revision in passenger train fares, effective July 1, 2025. This fare adjustment, earlier anticipated, aims to ensure service viability and make fare calculations simpler, as per a notification from the Ministry of Railways.

The changes are based on the newly updated Passenger Fare Table from the Indian Railway Conference Association (IRCA). Tickets booked before July 1 will remain valid under the old rates. All reservation systems—PRS, UTS, and manual counters—are being updated to reflect the new pricing.
