Following the horrific level crossing collision between a school van and a speeding train near Semmankuppam, located between Cuddalore and Alapakam in the Tiruchirappalli railway division, at least three train services were abruptly terminated mid-journey on Tuesday.
According to Southern Railway, the following trains were affected:

Train No. 56808 Tiruvarur–Mayiladuthurai Passenger, which departed at 5:15am on Tuesday, was terminated at Alapakam.
Train No. 16232 Mysuru–Cuddalore Port Express, which started from Mysuru at 4:15pm on Monday, was terminated at Puduchatiram.
Train No. 06190 Tambaram Special Fare Special, which departed from Tiruchirappalli at 5:35am on Monday, was terminated at Chidambaram.
Southern Railway officials stated that these services will remain partially cancelled until further notice, as repair and rectification works are underway at the accident site.
The tragic incident, which claimed the lives of three students, has not only caused grief but also disrupted regional rail connectivity. Authorities are working to restore services at the earliest.
