Pune: Police nab actor after tracing him across multiple cities
Bengaluru-born TV actor Ashish was arrested in Pune on Tuesday following allegations of sexual assault made by a woman in Gurugram. The complainant alleged that Ashish assaulted her inside a bathroom during a house party in Delhi in the second week of August.
An FIR was registered on August 11, and police began searching for him immediately. According to senior officials, Ashish was initially traced to Goa, but managed to evade arrest before being located in Pune, where he was staying with a friend.
Allegations and statement revisions
Police said the woman initially named other individuals along with Ashish in her complaint, alleging that he, along with unidentified men, had raped her. However, she later revised her statement, accusing only Ashish of sexual assault.
Authorities added that they are consulting legal experts to determine the next course of action. The investigation is ongoing, and police are probing the matter from all possible angles.

A senior officer told Hindustan Times: “The team has been looking for him. He was earlier traced to Goa, but when the team reached, he slipped away. He was then traced to Pune, where he was found living with a friend and was arrested on Tuesday.”
The victim, a Gurugram-based professional, reported the incident in the early hours of August 11.
