A late-night dispute over snacks and alcohol at a roadside eatery in Ghaziabad turned violent on Friday, leaving two young men dead and another injured, police said.

According to officials, the victims — identified as Satyam and Shripal, both around 25 years old and employed as factory workers — had reportedly parked their e-rickshaw near the eatery along with their friend Anurag. The three were said to be consuming alcohol when an argument broke out with the eatery staff over ordering snacks while drinking.

Argument escalates into violence

Police sources said the verbal exchange quickly escalated into a physical confrontation. During the scuffle, the eatery owners and staff allegedly attacked the trio with knives and other sharp objects.

Local residents alerted authorities after the disturbance intensified. A police team reached the spot and found Satyam and Shripal critically injured. Both were rushed for medical attention but were later declared dead by doctors. Anurag sustained injuries but is reported to be out of danger.

Police investigation underway

Deputy Commissioner of Police Trans Hindon Nimish Patil said the area has been secured and an investigation has been initiated. Several suspects have been taken into custody for questioning, and further legal action is expected based on the findings.

Officials said statements from eyewitnesses and forensic evidence from the scene are being examined to establish the sequence of events. Police have urged the public to avoid speculation while the inquiry continues.

The incident has raised concerns among local residents about late-night safety and the need for stricter monitoring of public eateries where alcohol consumption occurs.
