Chandigarh: The Railways issued an alert to the Pathankot Cantonment station and Pathankot Junction station on Saturday, after intelligence inputs suggested a threat of explosions triggered by Pakistan’s spy agency ISI. The two stations are now on high alert.

The staff at the two stations have been asked to conduct thorough checks in parking areas and in other areas where people have gathered. They have also been asked not to park their vehicles in the usual spots i.e. the parking lot and railway station platforms.

They have also bee advised to check unattended items lying about at the stations.

The Pathankot Cantonment station is situated two kilometres from the Air Force station that was attacked in January of 2016 by heavily-armed terrorists. It is also 20 km from the International border.
