Shamli :Two men suspected of being involved in the murder of Haryanvi singer and YouTuber Ankit Balyan were killed in an encounter with the Uttar Pradesh Police in Shamli, officials said. The deceased were identified as Sumit, 24, and Mohit, 22, both from Sonipat in Haryana.

Police said both suspects were allegedly associated with the Gogi gang and carried a reward of Rs 50,000 each. The encounter took place during a police operation in Shamli, with the suspects allegedly opening fire at the police team. Two SWAT personnel were also injured in the exchange of fire.

Singer was shot outside his gym

Ankit Balyan was shot dead outside his gym in Shamli on August 26. According to police, four armed assailants riding two motorcycles opened fire on him before fleeing the scene.

Balyan suffered critical injuries and was taken to a nearby community health centre, where doctors declared him dead. A video purportedly showing the shooting later surfaced on social media.

Police have said the investigation indicates the involvement of four shooters, while two other suspects allegedly carried out reconnaissance before the attack. The Gogi gang has also reportedly claimed responsibility for the killing.

Two suspects remain at large

Police recovered firearms and ammunition from the two men killed in the encounter, while efforts are continuing to trace the remaining suspects.

The latest development is being treated as a major breakthrough in the murder investigation. However, authorities are continuing to establish the complete chain of events, including the motive and the roles of all those allegedly involved. The investigation remains underway.
