New Delhi: A student of Delhi Technological University (DTU) has received a job offer with an annual salary of Rs.1.25 crore from United States-based cab-hailing company Uber Technologies.
With this placement, Siddharth, a computer Science engineering student becomes a privileged student who has received the second-highest offer at DTU, after software giant Google hired a student for an annual salary of Rs.1.27 crore in 2015.
Sidharth has been offered the position of a software engineer at the San Francisco office of Uber, and the salary includes basic pay and other benefits. Sidharth’s basic pay package is Rs 71 lakh, which goes up to Rs 1.25 crore with other benefits.
“I am looking forward to move to San Francisco,” Siddharth told the HT.
An alumnus of Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj, the 21-year-old who had a seven-week internship with the Uber earlier said that the recruitment process was grilling as he had to solve problems on the spot.
Siddharth, who had scored 95.4 per cent in his Class 12 board examination, said that he always wanted to become a computer science engineer, but his low scores posed impediment to his dreams of joining an IIT.
He is the first engineer of the family. His father is a planning consultant and mother a freelance transcriber. He has a younger brother who also studies at DPS Vasant Kunj.
