UP Cops: School Bomb Scare Linked to Students’ Online Gaming Chat

School Bomb

Lucknow: Authorities in Lucknow have unveiled the source of recent bomb threat emails targeting schools, tracing them back to a group of children innocently engaged in online chat. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Zone) Tej Swaroop Singh, the children, aged between 10-11, inadvertently forwarded the alarming messages during a gaming session on the app ‘Discord.’ Surprisingly, the youngsters hail from different states, with no apparent connection to each other. Their identities remain confidential.

Despite the children’s innocence, the incident prompted a serious response. Following a complaint by a private school principal, law enforcement swiftly registered an FIR. A specialized team, comprising surveillance and Sushant Golf City police, was assembled to investigate further.

The investigation revealed that the children obtained the school’s email ID from a pamphlet, underscoring the importance of digital safety measures. The case remains open as authorities continue to explore all angles.
